For traveling to Italy you need to know some tips, the easiest way to get to Italy is by train, is very cheap and in most cases very efficient, the planes are also good but they are more expensive. The local buses are efficient, despite of the fact that there isn't a national bus company, although a few companies do operate services beyond their own immediate area.
You need to have a passport, but you will be limited to stay three months, in the legal part, you will have to register to the police within three days of entering to this country.
Italian climate is very variable depending on the region, during the winter there are remarkable differences between the south and north, for example in some days between December and January it can be snowing in Milan while in Naples or Palermo it is +17§C.
Generally, the hottest month is August in the south and July in the north; during these months the thermometer can reach 38-42°C in the south and 33-35°C in the north.
Italy has religious, food and art festivals, all the regions and cities in this country have their local saint, one of the best known takes place in Cocullo on May 6 (St. Dominic Abate's Day) when the statue of the saint is carried though the town.
One of the food festivals is In Tivoli, near Rome, the town's fountains run with wine on the second Sunday in October.
Perhaps the most prestigious art festival is the Venice film festival in August and September.
Generally though, the smaller events are better, giving you a chance to join in the dancing and sample the cooking.
